About Dike

Named for railroad construction engineer Chester Thomas Dike, who chose the site and laid out the town in 1900, Dike offers a small-town atmosphere with the convenience of the Waterloo/Cedar Falls metro area.   Residents enjoy the simplicity, friendliness and low-stress environment that a small town offers. Location:

Just 10 miles west of Cedar Falls/Waterloo. Dike is located in Grundy County and is adjacient to the four lane Interstate Highway 20. Dike is within 20 minutes of the University of Northern Iowa, the UNI-Dome and Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center; Hawkeye Community College and the Upper Iowa University Waterloo Center; shopping centers, art and historical museums, drama and cultural activities, hospitals and recreational activities.
