Dike Watermelon Days

Dike Watermelon Days will be held on Friday, August 15 and Saturday, August 16. Among the festivities will be a 5K Run/1K Walk, games, a craft sale from 11-5 and a parade starting at 3 p.m.

To be a part of the parade, entries should gather at 2 p.m. at the south end of Dike on Front Street, next to the Farmers Coop. The parade will start promptly at 3 p.m. There is no entry fee and no advance registration required. However, the parade organizers reserve the right to refuse entry to any float they deem inappropriate.

Craft vendors may apply for the Dike Watermelon Day Arts & Craft Fair, Saturday, August 16, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at Dike-New Hartford High School.

Booths will be set up in the grass at the edge of the circle drive between the D-NH High School and Elementary School. Vendors are responsible for their own display (tables, display units, canopies, etc.).

Booth space is free to anyone who resides in, or has their business located in, the Dike-New Hartford School District. For vendors outside the D-NH School District, the fee is $10, payable to the Dike Community Betterment Association.

            Parade Route North on 2nd St., to Monroe, east to
            Main St., South to State St. Lunch/pop available at
            Dike Fire/Rescue Dept. during the Parade line-up.
